Road to Resurrection

This family-friendly event gets families talking…and walking with Jesus! Scripture from the Gospels guide families through the events surrounding Jesus’ death and resurrection.

During this event, families travel the path Jesus journeyed. They'll taste the Passover meal, visit Barabbas in his jail cell, hear a Roman's soldier's remorse, and join in other powerful experiences.

30 Hour Famine

This is a Friday and we would be doing something called the 30 Hour Famine. Because of the length of this event (30 hours), this will be a lock-in overnight type of situation. During this event, we will do something to help people who might be facing hunger on a regular basis while fasting from food ourselves. As of right now, we need adult leaders for this event!  Fasting is a great way to grow closer to God, it's very much a spirit versus body type of situation. This will also raise awareness of food-related needs in the community and the world. Contact Curtis for more information.

Triple F: Food, Fun, Fellowship

Who: Triple F. That’s us.

What: We are the server crew at Banquet West. The Banquet is downtown. This is Banquet
West, the west side branch.

When: Tuesday, December 26. 5:15-8:00

Where: It is in the Nortstrom-Jensen Building in the W. H. Lyons Fairgrounds. Easiest access is from the north, Come straight south from Madison Avenue on Fairgrounds Access Road.

Why: Because someone’s got to do it, and we can do it. Here’s what to do.
You’ve got to get in the book (It’s not THE BOOK, just the book.): Option 1. Sign up at the church’s Welcome Center. It’s the book titled “Check Here to See How You Can Get Involved”. Find the page (fine print) for Banquet West, December 26. Write your name.
Option 2. Email me (HaroldC@acm.org) and I’ll write your name in the book.
If you’ve never served the Banquet, we are very anxious to share this experience
with you. If you want to ask us questions, give us a call; we’ll encourage you.
Hosts for December are Janet and Roger Wehde, and Nora and Harold Christensen

Santa's Village

We are going to re-do the Kidstop annual Christmas store.  This year we are setting it up somewhat like the Santa’s Village/Workshop you might remember from Festival of Trees.  Each child will be “escorted” to the workshop where they can select items to give as gifts to family members.  After they make their selection they will get assistance “wrapping” their gift in a gift bag.  The store will take place on Monday and Tuesday, December 11th and 12th from 3 – 5 pm in the multipurpose room.

Help is needed in two ways:

  1.  Volunteers to escort kids through the workshop or assist with “wrapping”
  2. Donations of new or gently used items that could be gifts for all ages (brothers, sisters, moms, and dads)  Suggested items include stuffed animals, small toys, candles, knick-knacks, jewelry and other accessories, bags, hats, gloves, scarves, journals, puzzles, small household items, etc. We are often short of items appropriate for the dads.

If you have donations, please leave them in the office marked Lana/Kidstop Store.  If you are available to help at the store, please get a message me.

Thank you!

Mary Uecker
